This fun cartoon map of Saratoga Springs was created by John Held Jr. in 1932 and highlights the lighter side of the Spa City, known for its mineral springs, horse racing, the nearby Battle of Saratoga, and so much more.
John Held, Jr. (1889-1958) was a prominent illustrator and cartoonist and was one of the best-known magazine illustrators of the 1920s. His cartoons were featured in many prominent magazines including The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, and Life magazine.
This reprint of Held's map honors his work and celebrates Saratoga Springs in a humorous fashion. Printed on archival quality paper with archival inks and features a slight toned background to recreate a vintage feel, this piece will delight for years to come.
